SIN Singapore Changi Airport

Layover in Singapore: what fits in your hours

Changi is the airport people are happy to be stuck in, and Singapore is the city that is easiest to visit on a layover: most passports enter visa-free, the MRT reaches Marina Bay in about 35 minutes, and the airport runs a free city tour. If your layover is short, Jewel, the glass dome with the indoor waterfall, is right outside arrivals.

How much time you really get

We count 35 minutes each way on the MRT from Changi Airport, change at Tanah Merah, to City Hall, plus 20% for waiting, 45 minutes from landing to the exit, and 120 minutes back at the airport before departure. Bags checked through.
